"PRETTY LADY
Lady is a beautiful Quarter Horse with the old-fashioned range-type conformation.  In time she demonstrated that she had at some time had both very good training as a Western horse, and experience driving on the trotting track.  She came to us off the meat truck. We pieced together some history.  Lady (14 yr.) and a hot-headed filly friend (age~2) had come by train from Alberta during a drought. Ranchers could not feed all their horses.  From the stock yards in Montreal she made her way to a farm in the ‘back country’ inland from Willowbank.  Her loving owner was a widow living on her own.  The widow became ill and was eventually moved to the hospital with brain cancer.  Those rescuing the widow had no idea there were two horses in a run-down shed outside.  It was February, -30 degrees with a full blown blizzard howling.
